COMPOSER/EDUCATOR

OTOTUNES is Odd Torleiv Furnes. I am a composer, guitarist, educator and researcher. I have studied composition at the Grieg Academy and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Norway, and Berklee College of Music, USA. In 2006 i did my PhD in music at the University of Oslo, Norway. The thesis "Musical Memory, Attention, and the Hit" discussed the hitpotential based on analysis of musical structures from the perspective of perception and cognition. In 2022 I published the book "Deep learning in music" (Dybdelæring i musikk). I am an associate professor in music at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences in Bergen, Norway.
